The Memphis Grizzlies continued their winning streak with a 111-104 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. This is the 11th straight win for the Grizzlies and the longest this season. Memphis, led by Ja Morant, have been on a tear since the All-Star break, having only lost twice.
Meanwhile, Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, was not happy with his team’s performance and spoke out in the postgame press conference. Cuban said that his team “deserved better”, and that the team would have to take responsibility for the loss. Mavericks head coach, Rick Carlisle, was also not pleased with the game, saying, “We have to have more passion, intensity and guts out there than we displayed tonight.”
However, Mavericks veteran point guard, Jason Kidd, seemed to disagree with Cuban and Carlisle. “It’s hard to criticize a team that’s playing hard and doing their best,” Kidd said. “We just have to stay focused on the task at hand and understand that we can still win games.” His comments suggest that he believes the team is doing its best and it is ultimately up to the players to prove themselves on the court.
